Cricket World Cup Prize Money
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced a prize money pool of US$10 million for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023, to be held in India from October 5 to November 19, 2023.
The tournament winner will receive USD 4 million, while the runner-up will receive USD 2 million. Losers of the semi-finals will each receive USD 800,000, and the six teams eliminated after the group phase will each receive USD 100,000.
In addition, teams will also receive prize money for winning group stage matches. The winner of each group stage match will receive US$40,000.
This is the first time that the ICC has announced equal prize money for the men’s and women’s Cricket World Cups. The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 will also have a prize money pool of US$10 million.

Breakdown:
- Winner: US$4 million
- Runner-up: US$2 million

Format
- In the group stage, ten teams will compete against each other in a single round-robin competition.
- The top four teams in the group stage will progress to the semi-final stage,
- With the winners of the semi-final advancing to the final.

- 48 matches will be played across 10 venues.
- The defending champions are England.

Women’s World Cup prize money
Cricket’s governing body, the International Cricket Council (ICC), has declared that the prize money allocated to the Women’s World Cup, scheduled to take place in 2025, will be the same as that allocated to the Men’s World Cup. This development is a step in the right direction towards achieving gender parity in cricket.
