Huskies have stormed into the NCAA March Madness 2023 title game for the first time since 2014 after a 72-59 win over Miami (FL) in the Final Four on Saturday. Uconn have been in superb form lately and defeated all their opponents with a double digit margin in the current season. Final Four results were not different too, As they beat Miami (FL) with a 13 points difference again with a double digit margin win.

No. 4 seeded UConn rolls to the National Championship game, As they dominated the game from the start as they raced out to a 14-4 lead within the first seven minutes of the game and take a 37-24 halftime lead. At one point, Huskies have taken a 20-point lead in the second half but Miami (FL) make seven consecutive shots to cut the deficit to eight at 53-45 when Isaiah Wong hit a 3 with 11:40 to play.

“I love the way they guarded them, We really disrupted them. I thought we body-blowed them until we could knock them out.” coach Dan Hurley said.

The Huskies have won all their NCAA March Madness 2023 tournament games by double figures (by 13 or more points) with an average margin of victory of 20.6 points.

Adama Sanogo scored 21 points, 10-rebounds and teammate Jordan Hawkins scored 13 points, as eight Huskies recorded at least two field goals and led UConn to a win over Miami and national championship game appearance.

“There’s a lot of teams that want to play Monday. It means a lot to us. It means everything we work for. The work has paid off, and still going and keep working and be able to go Monday night,” Adama Sanogo said after the game.

If UConn wins the title, It will be there fifth NCAA tournament title overall. As Huskies have won four national championships till date.

Miami’s surreal March Madness 2023 run was brought to an anticlimactic end. As UConn defense was simply outstanding against a Miami (FL) team that averaged 87.3 points over its last three matchups in the tournament. Miami finished at only 32.3 percent shooting, as the team found incredibly hard to shoot from the field all evening.

The Miami Hurricanes (29-8), in their first Final Four appearance, never led and only briefly tied the game at 19 in the first half.

“We just tried to build what every Miami basketball team should try to reach each season,” the Hurricanes’ Jordan Miller said. “I think we did a good job of laying down that foundation. Obviously it didn’t end out the way we wanted it to, but regardless, at the end of the day, if you make history, school history, you’re a winner in some shape or form.”

No.4 seed UConn will now face no.5 seed San Diego State, which defeated Florida Atlantic 72-71 after Lamont Butler scored a buzzer-beating baseline jumper to win it for San Diego State

The 2023 championship game is now set. Game time is Monday at 9:20 p.m. ET from Houston’s NRG Stadium. The Final match will stream on March Madness live and will also televise on CBS.
