In an hard fought battle between Denmark and China on Saturday night at HBF park in Perth, Australia. Amali Vangsgaard 89th minute header against China give Denmark 1-0 win on their first Women’s World Cup appearance since 2007. The win made Lars Sondergaard’s side share the top position with England in Group D.
Amalie Vansgaard played a crucial role in helping Denmark secure three points in what was very almost a 0-0 tie. In what turned out to be the game-winning goal, Vansgaard slipped into ideal position on a corner kick and sent a lob into the goal.

China played the superior brand of football throughout the game, despite Denmark winning.
China, who were competing in their third consecutive championships, had the upper hand in the opening period, giving Denmark issues on the wings while preventing their opponents from making any significant attempts despite the presence of two-time UEFA Women’s Player of the Year Harder in attack.

Denmark will next play England on Friday, July 28. They will have plenty of confidence going into the England game after that late goal too. The second round of group game provides an opportunity for the teams to qualify to the next round.
On the other hand, China will face Haiti on Friday, July 28. They have to win the match to have a chance of qualifying to the knock out stage, as their final match of group stage which is not going to be easy too. So, they have to beat Haiti to stay in the competition. But, seeing Haiti performance against their hard fought it will be not easy way for China.
