France Cruises to 4-0 Victory over Morocco, Advances to Quarterfinals

France’s women’s soccer team continued their dominant run at the 2023 Women’s World Cup, defeating Morocco 4-0 in the Knock out round on Tuesday. France were in control from the start, and they scored three goals in the first half to put the game out of reach.

Eugenie Le Sommer scored twice for France, while Kadidiatou Diani and Kenza Dali also found the net. Morocco had a few chances to score, but they were unable to get past the French defense. Morocco became the lowest-ranked team (72) to play in the last 16.

It was Dianiโ€™s fourth goal of the tournament after her hat trick in Franceโ€™s 6-3 win over Panama in its final Group F match.

Le Sommer increased her all-time leading goal scoring record for France to 92, while the game marked the first time Les Bleues had scored four goals in a World Cup knockout game.

Kadidiatou Diani opened the scoring in the 15th minute with a powerful shot from outside the box.

Kenza Dali doubled the lead in the 20th minute with a clinical finish from close range. And Eugenie Le Sommer made it 3-0 in the 23rd minute with a well-taken goal from the edge of the box in the first half of the match.

In the Second half only one goal was score and that was from France end and it was none other than Eugenie Le Sommer who strike again at 70th minute of the play to score twice in the match. The goal made the lead 4-0

The victory sets up a quarterfinal clash with Australia, who upset Denmark 2-0 in the other round of 16 match. Australia will face France in the quarterfinal on Saturday August 12 at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.

France’s performance against Morocco was a reminder of why they are one of the top contenders to win the championship. They are a well-organized team with a lot of attacking talent.
