Tazuni, a fun, football-loving penguin was unveiled as the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 Mascot prior to the group stage draw, capturing the spirit of an event that will go Beyond Greatness and it has turned plenty of heads already. The tournament’s offcial mascot was unveiled on 19 October 2022.
What does Tazuni Means ?
Tazuni, which is the combination of the Tasman Sea and ‘Unity’, a key value of the event to be co-hosted by Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand in 2023. It represents a little penguin related to Eudyptula minor endemic to New Zealand, with a closely related Eudyptula novaehollandiae species found in Australia and New Zealand.

Why Tazuni is selected for Australia and New Zealand World Cup 2023 ?
FIFA have decided to have only one mascot because Tazuni represents both nations. As Tazuni is a penguin which is a native to both Australia and New Zealand, As her name is a fusion which include Tasman Sea which connects both country and ‘Unity’ which is a official theme song for Australia and New Zealand Women’s World Cup 2023.

FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 Official Poster Unveiled
The FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023 official poster and nine custom Host City posters were unveiled in pop-up outdoor gallery installations in Adelaide/Tarntanya and Wellington/Te Whanganui-a-Tara.
To celebrate the world’s largest women’s sporting event, Posters was released in time on the occasion of International Women’s Day, the official poster cover the iconic tournament’s theme of Beyond Greatness.

The winner’s trophy is prominently displayed in the centre, focusing attention on athletic prowess as we work to advance the game.

The foreground player silhouettes represent the athleticism, talents, and passion demonstrated during play as well as the joy of celebrating.

On 28 October 2021, FIFA released “Unity” as the theme song for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 . It was created by British DJ and music producer kelly Lee Owen. It was released on the same day as the official emblem and slogan unveiling.
FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 Official Logo
On October 28, 2021, at a live show, the official emblem was introduced. It was created in collaboration by the Toronto-based company Public Address and the Los Angeles-based Works Creative Agency. The logo shows a football surrounded by 32 different coloured squares, representing the tournament’s extended playing surface and the varied topography of the two host countries. Designs designed by Australian artist Chern’ee Sutton and Maori artist Fiona Collis that represent the Indigenous peoples of the host countries will be incorporated into the tournament’s overall identity.
