England will face Colombia in the Quarter-Finals of the FIFA Women’s World Cup on Saturday, August 12, at Stadium Australia, Sydney / Wangal. The match will be played at 8.30 pm AEST/ 6:30 a.m. ET / 11:30 BST
Match Preview
England and Colombia both made it to the quarterfinals of the Women’s World Cup this weekend, with England beating Nigeria and Colombia getting past Jamaica. It’s Colombia’s first time ever in the quarterfinals, and they’ll face off against England in Sydney.
England will be without Chelsea forward James, who has been suspended, due to a disciplinary issue. Sarina Wiegman will be required to make a strategic decision between retaining the productive formation of 3- 4-1-2 or deviating from it.
Chloe Kelly is expected to take James’s place in the starting lineup, while a change to a 4-2-3-1 formation could see Rachel Daly shift from wing-back to a forward position. Colombia international Manuel Vanegas is expected to return to the starting lineup after serving a suspension.
