The Kansas City Chiefs have advanced to their third Super Bowl in the last four years after defeating the Cincinnati Bengals in a thrilling game for AFC Championship on Sunday night. Harrison Butker’s 45-yard field goal with three seconds on the clock to seal the 23-20 win from Arrowhead Stadium and sent the Chiefs to Super Bowl 57, avenging a shocking defeat at the hands of the Bengals team 364 days ago when Evan McPherson of Cincinnati Bengals closed out the AFC championship with a game-winning field goal, the shoe was on the other foot this year in Kansas City.

Kansas City Chiefs were fiercely trying to win the AFC title this year, So, Patrick Mahomes had to rely on his sprained right ankle rather than his powerful right arm. He threw for 326 yards and two touchdowns, even though he was missing three of his wide receivers to injuries by the end.

The penalty by Ossai cost the Bengals. As Last year, it was Evan McPherson but this year Harrison Butker’s 45-yard field goal with three seconds on the clock have sent The Chiefs back to the Super Bowl and the Bengals fall painfully short.

It was a victory they’re most worthy of and also they deserved it by the way they played the whole game, They had suffered three straight defeats in the last 12 months including one in this year regular season to their newly discovered rivals, also including a three-point overtime loss to Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC championship game the previous year. Three points separated each of those losses.

Now, The Chiefs will play for a showdown on Sunday, February 12, 2023 in the Super Bowl 57. It will be Kansas City Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Andy Reid will face the team he coached for 14 years. In the first matchup of Black quarterbacks in the Super Bowl Mahomes and Jalen Hurts will battle it out for the Lombardi Trophy.
