In the thrilling match, The No. 8 seeded Miami Heat beats Boston Celtics by 123-116 at TD Garden in Boston in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals on Wednesday night, after trailing behind by nine points at the halftime before turning it around in third quarter with a mammoth 46 points been scored which is a franchise playoff-record itself, and outscoring Boston 66-50 in the last two quarters.

Heat was led by Jimmy Butler, finishing with 35 points, 5 rebounds, six steals and 7 assists, while Bam Adebayo dropped 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and teammates Kyle Lowry, Caleb Martin, Gabe Vincent and Max Strus all added 15 points apiece. which was a huge factor throughout the match which led Heat to win over Celtics.

On the other hand, Celtics was led by Jayson Tatum and exploded 30 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block but he didn’t take a shot in last quarter. while, Jaylen Brown scored 22 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and teammates Malcolm Brogdon finished with 19 points, 2 rebounds and one assist and Marcus Smart scored 13 points and 11 assists.

“I don’t know why,” Tatum said of their home struggles. “You’ve still got to play the game, you’ve got to make plays, regardless of whether you’re home or away.”

“We had a game plan to come out and be very physical, First half, we did a pretty good job; second half we didn’t. When you’re playing against a team like Miami, when you don’t come out and execute the game plan, they make you pay.” said Celtics starting point guard Marcus Smart.

“The only thing we need to adjust to is picking up our physicality and playing some damn defense,” said Marcus Smart. “That’s the only thing they switched. They didn’t change anything from the first half that they weren’t doing, they just upped their physicality and that’s it. There’s nothing tactical, X’s and O’s, it’s just come out and guard your yard. They scored 46 in that third, and they got going, and they made us pay, and they led into the fourth quarter.”

The Celtics were leading with 9 points at halftime, While in the 1st quarter they have taken a lead of 2 points only. But later on, Heat made a comeback and by the end of 3rd quarter not only they scored a record- breaking 46 points but also made Celtics trailed by 12 points, Miami outscored Boston 66-50 over the last two quarter.

Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla started his press conference with the “won three out of four quarters” statement, too, so it does appear to have been the coach’s game plan when he strode to the podium

“We won three out of the four quarters, “We lost one quarter. Because we dropped our sense of urgency. So no.” Celtics Head Coach Joe Mazzulla said.

It was Butler’s fifth game with 30 or more points been scored this postseason. Butler scored 35 points, which includes 20 points been scored after halftime and heat rallied after the halftime to beat Celtics though Celtics outscored the Heat in three out of four quarters

“I think in the third quarter we kind of played too slow, mainly because we weren’t getting stops,” said Jayson Tatum, Celtics leading scorer with 30 points. “In the fourth quarter, we made a couple of runs, got to push the ball, and those go hand in hand with getting stops and getting out in transition. So, it starts on the defensive end. Just play with some more pace, play a little bit faster.”

The No. 8-seed Heat have opened all three playoff series with road victories. Game 2 is on Friday in Boston. On the other hand Celtics Boston is just 4-4 at home during this postseason.
